Organ donation, week 2
This group successfully gets 17 people to consider organ donation, a total of 136 lives that may be saved some day. Here the boys hold up their hands to represent the number 17.
Earlier in the day, the group huddles with the organ donation presenters around a real human kidney, each of their personalities distinct in the shot!

Another rainy day!
These two, I took yesterday evening when I noticed a chattering outside the kitchen. At one point, there were over 15 barn swallows just hanging out on the garage!

Strange fruit
In 1939, Billie Holiday reluctantly recorded a song called Strange Fruit which condemned American racism. Its haunting lyrics and sad soulful tune moved many people to re-examine the vile practice of lynching. Although lynching of blacks still took place even as late as 1981, the song brought to light for the first time the sadness and emotions of the black community. While walking today, I spotted a strange fruit in a small tree. Immediately, I remembered Holiday's song, a reminder of what is required of me today:
Micah 6:8: the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
