I really like this portrait because it's so different. You chose a unique angle...shallow DOF emphasizes your model's freckles (the main subject)...your model is looking down and away from the camera...and your model does not look "posed." The hat adds an interesting element, too, as well as the red/white/blue theme. Great portraiture!
I agree with everything that's been said. I really love portraits where the subject is not looking at the camera. Looking away combined with the close-up is beautiful.

Who doesn't like freckles! Great, great job here, very interesting. Thank you for your suggestion, I made my last post a bit brighter.
