I haven't quite managed to kill all my plants yet!

Today I was marveling at how nice my ivy plants are. I have finally managed to keep a plant alive for a full year! For both of these, I changed settings on the camera to make the saturation higher but they are actually pretty green anyway. I like how close I can get to them and see the veins and the little hairs.

Monday haze

This picture totally describes my mood today! I wasn't feeling like traveling the globe (or Johnstown) for an interesting pic so I just did a self-photo which I call "haze". I'm tired, slightly irritable, pensive and yet out of focus in some ways today. Hope this picture captures that.

Favorite places

What a drizzly, dreary weekend it has been! I decided to shoot at one of my favorite places as a child...the tiny Glen Cemetary. I used to go there just to think and for the peace and quiet and I loved the old grave stones. Again, couldn't make up my mind so there are three:

In this picture I was trying to layer using the stone and a large beautiful tree with rough bark:

Here, I was taking shots from under an evergreen and I kind of like the out of focus stones in the background:
Last one: Again, an interesting tree and old cross tombstone
This is a lot of fun so far:)

Couldn't choose

Couldn't choose...between a picture of my grandfather's barn...

...And my mother playing gypsy!

No photos yet!

Okay, I'm ready to start. Going to go out today and take my first picture for the assignment! Just for the heck of it though, I'll post one from Africa today: Taken in Magrimundi, Zambia, at a church service we put on for that community. The boy in the red shirt broke my heart because he never smiled. Most of the children there were HIV positive or had Hepatitis.
