Finally made it to a game!

Finally! I got to see some of my kids play this morning. I was really struggling with this type of photography though. Even though the camera has a motion preset, it didn't seem to make the players stop being blurry and I couldn't figure out how to change that. Oh well, here are some of my favorites:

The pre game huddle: always a good one!
Half time: I like how the opposing teams players are in focus with Fonda girls slightly out of focus. Fonda was struggling to stay ahead at this point in the game.

This is my favorite: each girl progressively gets sharper, first two blurry and Cassie almost perfectly in focus. Cool! I don't know how I did that!

Sporting events are always fun for me to photograph. I can hardly sit still for wanting to get different/better vantage points. Love the second one especially, but also the third. Good jobl.

I would never guess you were struggling with sports photography...you did a great job! My favorites are #2 & #3. On #2, I liked how you used the railing to frame the girl's face. I think I would have preferred the image without the railing, but there was nothing you could do about that, and you used it to your advantage. In #3, I liked how your subject was sharply focused while the others were blurred. You also nailed the lighting. Wonderful job!!!

Nice job Jayme. When you figure out the lighting and the blur let me know too! Though I think with action, blur can be a good thing b/c it shows the action. I like how in the "huddle" the one fonda girl is looking back. Nice capture.
