Country mornings and hay

My mom has been begging (okay, maybe not begging) me to photograph these Amish haystacks in a field near her home. Today, I was a bit worried that the fog would hinder the experience, but actually I like how they turned out. Fog to me represents mystery, so I like the stacks leaning against the fog in these pictures. It's silent and peaceful and yet, it tells me there is something more to come.

Maybe I am biased, b/c I too took fog pictures today; however, I love the fog. I agree that it adds mystery, stillness and overall interest. Nice Job! Your mom has an eye because she was correct about the hay making a great image!

Love the hay stacks. How come your Mom didn't tell me about the hay stacks. I haven't seen them, where are they? The fog definitely adds to the image and the shot with the three is good because it's usually better with an odd number of items. Nice capture.

I was about the say that I loved the hay stacks, that the fog adds an element of mystery to the image, and that my favorite was second photo with the 3 hay stacks, because odd numbers of things are more interesting than even numbers of things. But then I read Steve's and Linda's comments, and they said it all! Nice job, Jayme. Maybe your mom would help the rest of us, too? :-)

Poor little semi-country girl! I guess you skipped a generation!! those are NOT hay stalks...They're corn stalks. I think when they are gathered like this they are corn shalks??spelling? Anyway, they are lovely and such a sight in this beautiful country setting in which we are priveledged to live! Mum
