A restful day

Today was a restful day, though I was disappointed to have to take a day off from school due to illness. The word boring comes to mind whenever I picture a day not working with kids. However, I did manage to escape my germ ridden home for a different type of healing solitude. I decided to get out of the house for a little while as I have been bed ridden for far too long in my opinion.
I grabbed the camera and the warmest clothes I could find and headed for an old state forest I used to ride my bike to as a child. It's a little known spot and was perfect for just sitting by the water and breathing in the fresh air. Here are some photos of my restful spot in the woods. The second one is altered slightly to take on a oil painting appearance.

Terrific idea to get out of the house! Hope you are feeling better soon. I love hiking and nature and so the waterfalls really speak to me. I like the more milky waterfall that you posted. I'm impressed how seriously you are working on this. You know I'm competitive! This will push me!

Sorry to hear you're still not up to dancing a jig. It sounds like you're on the mend though.
I love the waterfall images. They are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. You may have to reveal the location to Steve and I--you can do it privately if you want.
A little critique if you don't mind. The second image is the better one--I really like it. It's better because there's no washed out sky to detract from the falls.
You'll be at Steve's when we meet in a couple of weeks, right? Can't wait to welcome you to the "group".

I like the second one best, too. It makes me want to go there!
