Renewal

Though I am weary in body and heart, tonight's bible study was very renewing. We met tonight at The Glen Store, which incidently, my friend Tim has just taken over. Please visit! There's a wood stove, antiques, and lots of small town flavor. If you ever need bread, he is an amazing baker:) I took a few pictures before everyone arrived like this one of some old boxes in the back:

And this one which goes with one of my favorite verses:

Matthew 17:20 (Jesus speaking) I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
And how does one get faith? Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
I needed to hear tonight, to renew my disheartened spirit. Finally, everyone came and I decided I would showcase all our bibles. It's funny how distinct they can be. Mom's is the one with all the papers and bookmarks and tissues hanging out of it. Gloria's is pink with the pink bookmark. Jonathan's is the large print Good News version, which helps him because he is legally blind. But Tom's is my favorite:) It's the one that's falling apart, which tells me he treasures it. That's the way I hope mine will be someday.

Whether you believe or not, the Bible is filled with wonderful truths that uplift us: Love one another, Do not be afraid, always have hope, and countless promises for our future. So that is what I'm holding onto as another day passes!

I'm thrilled that someone took over the store. What a great touch of "back in time". I'll be anxious to stop in when I return to NY--that is if I can make my way through the piles of snow! I enjoy looking at the last image with the Bibles--much personality shows in that image.
